Bury School Sports Partnership’s ‘In School Coaching Programme’ now employ a total of 24 specialist coaches delivering high quality physical education, CPD and extra-curricular programmes across 44 schools in Bury and the North Manchester area. We are always trying to improve our range of coaches and sports that we offer and we are currently working very closely with a variety of National Governing Bodies. We were delighted that the government have announcement that Sports Premium funding will be extended to 2020. With this in mind, it is important that we are able to build upon this going forward and Bury SSP have worked hard to provide a range of resources and tools that fall within the criteria of ‘permitted spend’ where the sports premium is concerned, this includes:

  • Mentoring support for teachers e.g one to one support for NQTs
  • CPD for teachers and midday supervisor
  • One off sport Specific Sessions
  • One day events and festivals eg Natiopnal Sports Week, Sport Day
  • Holiday schemes, for example Rugby, Football, Multi Sports
  • High quality extra-curricular sport and competitive opportunities for pupils
  • FREE Bikeability courses as well as a range of relevant CPD courses delivered locally tailored to individual schools needs
  • Crucially we provide a fully operational and interactive website that allows teachers to access resources, view current programmes and timetables as well as provide assistance in fulfilling compulsory OFSTED criteria associated with the award of sports premium funding.
